We

We are a management consulting firm specialised in implementing
sustainable improvement of our client's operational, financial, and cultural performance.

This means we work side-by-side with you to deliver the change and make sure it endures after the project.

We create and execute a performance plan on three levels: operational, financial, and cultural.

It is our belief that these three are thoroughly intertwined and need to be addressed at the same time to deliver the best results.

Clients are mostly private equity portfolio companies or leadership of independent mid- to large-sized companies. 

Geographies covered are mainly Europe and the Middle-East.

Industries we work in  we include the financial services, life sciences (healthcare and pharma)
mining, chemicals, food & beverages, and many other industries, as well as in the public sector.

Functions that we covered in earlier projects include in particular procurement and supply chain.

In addition to that, we also ran production and maintenance projects in factories,
as well as departments like risk and back-office.

How we do it

We do so by driving behaviour change in your organisation - what do people do, and how do they do this.

We drive behavioural change using several key levers: process optimisation, setting up a performance management system, and organisational effectiveness, from governance and span of control to coaching and training.
In addition to our core services, we also help clients find the best IT partners to leverage the solutions we bring.

Our approach is to merge our methodology and tools with your organisation's  experience, knowledge and ideas.

In our experience, most organisations have great ideas and suggestions floating around the coffee corners and canteens.

What they need is a platform to gain credibility and support, and a structured project management structure around it to execute it.

We add to this the deep experience we have gained over the years to fill and execute a pipeline of ideas.

Typical project flow

The typical project flow goes from scoping to analysis to implementation and sustainability.

Tailor-made options are of course available - we have also optimised single processes with clients as a basis for a large-scale transformation. The benefits: a quick proof of concept, good organisational awareness, and immediate lessons learnt.

The scoping is the first step of our engagement. We want to understand the context in which your business operates. We have structured interviews with key stakeholders, which allows us to define the scope of analysis together and get a top-down view on your potential.

Analysis

After a successful scoping, we will do a 4-8 week detailed analysis. What is limiting your performance, what should be done, and what does it bring to your bottom line?  We also get to know each other and start building relationships based on trust that we will succeed together.

Implement and sustain

Once the analysis is completed, our staff brings the capabilities and expertise to take your business to the next level. We combine the knowledge and talent in your organisation with our insights and skills to transform your processes, management system, and organisation, and in turn, your operational, financial, and cultural performance. 

Implementation typically goes through four phases, each of which takes 6-8 weeks to complete.

  • First, in the design-phase, we co-create the future processes, management system, and organisation based on our best practices and your knowledge of the business context

  • Second, in the install phase, we bring the design to work in the real world and monitor lessons learnt

  • Third, we ensure the implementation is handed over more and more to the business owners through intensive coaching and training

  • Finally, we guarantee sustainability through a controlled ramp-down of our involvement

The trainings combine class-room lectures with practical exercises and templates that participants can tailor to their working environment. Paul Boot (MCIPS)

Founder and CEO

Paul founded the company after 9 years in management consulting in Europe and the Middle-East.

 

He led projects and work streams across
industries (financial services, healthcare, pharma, mining,...) and 
verticals (procurement, supply chain, production, maintenance,...)
in four different languages (ENG/DE/FR/NL).

Paul holds a BA (hons) in liberal arts from Utrecht University in The Netherlands, which included an exchange at Cambridge University, and the flagship Master Grande Ecole degree from ESCP Europe, one of the continent's top business schools.

 

Additionally, he holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is full member of the Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply.

Mining for money in the quarry

A leading lime mining conglomerate with sites across Western Europe suspected value could be gained by consolidating and upgrading the procurement performance of its various quarries. The project rested on two pillars: identifying and securing total cost of ownership savings, and establishing the processes, management system, and organisation allowing the client to repeat this exercise autonomously in the future. We optimised procure-to-pay and source-to-contract processes, set up the performance management system, trained and coached the 40+ sourcing managers and internal stakeholders in better buying, and secured over 10 million Euro in savings.

Waste Pickup

A wealth of waste

A country in the Gulf-region launched a long-term nation-wide programme to make the economy less dependent on natural resources. To finance this programme, it reviewed and lowered its spend on a variety of categories.

 

We led the waste management efforts, reviewing contracts, inspecting operations, and leading workshops to align contracts with actual needs and what services the providers actually delivered. Hereby, we identified and delivered several million Riyals of cost savings that could be implemented without changing the operations.

Changing the chemistry

A French resin-production plant of a large American chemicals manufacturer requested a review of its production and maintenance department. Through process analysis (Lean Six Sigma), organisational effectiveness assessment, and root cause analyses of overall equipment efficiency losses, we identified and implemented the levers to sustainably stabilise and improve equipment availability and product output quality.
